Slumdog Millionaire

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Drama
A clear reference that Pinoys are not the only race in the world that relies much on TV game shows for easy money and living, this movie indeed is clever. Brilliant.

I was in awe all throughout the film, there were no dull moments and the progression of scenes were successfully enticing. It clearly told back flash of unfortunate events without confounding the present situation happening in the story. All the actors who portrayed both the protagonists and antagonists were likeable and have their own niche to make the important scenes memorable; they were tailored fit for the roles. As a matter of fact, almost everything in the movie fits well – except for the dancing I guess. Ugh.

Admittedly, I also dream of experiencing TV reality/game shows, but of course I don’t want to have a winning momentum accompanied with suspicion. Yes, who doesn’t want a rags to riches life – who doesn’t want to be a millionaire?

For 59 Years

I’m actually speechless now – I don’t know what to write. But I guess I’ll just start this one by saying: I wouldn’t reach 21 without you.

About a week ago, I thought I would never have the chance to give my mom even a simple gift for her coming birthday. JUMP: Payday Mayday! But thank Heavens, I managed. I was able to surprise her with a cake yesterday, January 25th – but don’t worry mom, a bigger one will follow this coming February.

She has been my ultimate hero; my greatest fan; my most thoughtful housemate; my best friend; my stress reliever; my shock absorber; my living handkerchief – she has been my mom for 21 years.

Thank you and I love you will never be a cliché for me – and I would really love to tell you that over and over again for 59 more years – times a trillion years. And yeah, I’ll end this with:

HAPPY 59TH BIRTHDAY MAMA!
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

SPOTTED: The Busz?

SPOTTED.
Lonely Boy filling the cold, chilly air with warmth.
Could it be that he finally saw the Perfect Soul?
Or was it just, yet again, a pigment of his own fiction?
Pleasures never last that long – if you know what I mean.

xoxo

Four years ago
was the first time I saw you.
Inside a four-sided figure that’s out of reash;
I did try to find a way to touch it.

Three years ago,
I finally saw you up close.
Though bathed in the derk,
you still made me feel the warmth.

Two hours ago,
you let me discover you again.
This time in vibid light,
I almost wished the touch and warmth would last.

Park N’ Ride minus three;
Ayala-MRT Station minus two.
If you can’t comprehend,
just search the magic words.

Mouse Attack! *POP*

I really can’t imagine life without computers. Not so long ago, when personal computers where still a luxury and not a necessity, coping up through everyday life was like following a dance routine – you have to sweat, count per count.

Last night as I was finishing my take home(?) workload, I got irritated with my mouse. I admit, and quite ashamed, that I’m not the cleaner type of guy, so expect that my room is really messy – well, not that much. Back to the mouse; it was hard to manipulate, so I figured an instant cleaning. By the way, mine’s the old-type with the ball thingy inside [yeah, I love old school]; so anyways, I opened it and found a nest of dirt inside. I tried removing it through my bare hands but I was unsuccessful – I saw a nail, I grabbed and used it.

*POP*

As I pinched the part where dirt was, a certain piece fell off the mouse! Of course, I freaked! And the genius in me tried my best to fix it, but it's just that I don't know how to put it back inside – because without that part, the mouse can only run up-down and left-right! It was indeed an emergency. I ran outside my room and looked for my old PC stuffs and found my old mouse. Luckily, it’s still compatible with the PC I’m using – and I’m using it now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early this morning in the office, as I was about to start(?) my work for this week, almost everyone around the work place was having problems with their PCs for there was a massive virus and Trojan breakout on our system since last Friday; but my PC was spared then. So there I go, I opened my PC and started opening stuffs to start the week.

*POP*

The virus and Trojan has been detected on my PC and it went from slow to the eldest relative of the snail! I was stuck doing nothing for almost 4 hours. Luckily, the admin did everything to delete that outrageous virus – and I’m hoping it’s already removed by tomorrow.

WANTED: Perfect Family

I’m an only(?) child. I’ve been living together with my parents and some relatives since I-don’t-know-when. We are an extended family – and it’s quite hard but I can say I’m happy.

The longing for a sibling, a big brother or a little sister [my parents prefer a little girl], has been bugging my mind since I knew how sad it is to be the only child. I always have a cousin or two living with us to at least fill the missing players of our home, but then again, a sibling is a sibling. I thought this yearning would be forever – until…

Around 8:00PM earlier, a family friend from Tondo called my father – and he delivered the most unlikely good news: there was a newly born baby girl left on a secret abortion clinic! Actually, it was aborted by the real parents but luckily, the 7 month-old child survived and is now breathing. One thing’s for sure: it needs a family.

We were all shocked – we wanted that baby!

But we can’t have her, not now… not while my mother is still under recovery.

I saw the face of both my parents: their lips expressed joy, but their eyes wore pain. I felt the same way, and at the same time I felt sympathy for that little girl and loathe for her mother.

I thought I’ll finally have a little sister [I’ll name her Hermione!], oh well, that’s life.

STOP ABORTION YOU FREAKS!

Kwentong CLANto

Since the advent of friendship and camaraderie, various types of people have already grouped themselves according to preference, interests, likeness, and anything under the sun. The Illuminati, Priori of Sion, Order of the Phoenix, Death Eaters, Yakuza, Abu Sayyaff are just some of the many groups that I knew. Hence, they are considered clans.

Here in the Philippines – the Texting Capital of the World – clans are very rampant among youths here and there. All boys, all girls, mixed, or even boys who pretend girls and girls pretending boys are part of this phenom – and it’s available on all ages, just as long as you know how to text and you’ll send GMs [Group Messages] to the group everyday.

Okay, I’m not a fan. The hell I care with people who are among them; who maximizes their unlitexts to the fullest and is devoured by intense happiness after receiving 70+ text messages in a span of 20 minutes [this is only my own estimation, it could be worse.].

Just this yesterday, as I was inside a jeepney on my way to Alabang to ride a bus going to my work in Makati, a girl caught my ears. She was in the middle of a conversation through her cellphone; she seemed to enjoy the talk when suddenly I heard her say: "Sinong nag-recruit nga sa’yo?" Then it followed: "Ano ngang NASAL mo?" [that’s NASL for our generation: Name, Age, Sex, Location]; "Nagpunta ka ba sa GEB last Saturday?" [GEB apparently stands for Grand Eye Ball]; "Kelan tayo magkikita?"

Based on the eavesdropping I did, she’s only 21 [same age as mine] and has a very bubbly personality. Then again, I was irritated because I really despise people who tend to meet other people in such pathetic ways. After hearing lots, curiosity struck me and so I looked at the girl who’s actually behind me.

BANG.
I don’t want to comment anymore.
Yes.
