Fearless Forecast

Though I still have cough and colds, I was back
on track with school.

It was actually a good timing, because even if
I was late [what’s new? Lol] on my class for Investigative and Interpretative
Reporting earlier, I still got the chance to write the every-meeting exercise.
This time, we were asked to do a 5-6 paragraph interpretative report regarding
our fearless forecast on whom will be part of the winning senatoriables this
May 2007 Elections.

My fearless forecast:

  1. Escudero
    (GO)
and Zubiri (TU) for smart use of media exposure thru online forums
and popular jingles, such as Sugod by Sandwich
and Boom Tarat by Willie Revillame.

  1. Villar
    (GO)
and Angara (TU) for an even smarter use of media exposure thru
appealing celebrity endorsers and series of TV and radio advertisements.

  1. Pangilinan
    (GO)
and Recto (TU) for they have a large number of supporters coming from
Sharonians and Vilmanians, since they are the hubbies of those two big
    Pinoy celebrities respectively.

  1. Legarda
    (GO)
and Sotto (TU) for they have an even larger number of supporters, not
only because they were both well-loved media personalities before, but
also they have proven something before on the political side as well.

I did an evil deed, I peeped on my score for
the write-up about this, and it was 1.75. Not bad for me…

Oh, did I mention that the professor was having
second thoughts on whether this would serve as our finals? Well, now you know…
:P

Just a note: I’m not yet a registered voter
(yes, if you want proof, check my previous blogs…), and I don’t like politics.
Angal?! :P

Groovilicious! (longest blog ever…)

It has been a week since I last posted my
blah-blahs here on my site. And so, prepare for my longest blog ever!

February 28 – MassComm Day!

The lodestar college
of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila,
the College of Mass Communication, celebrated on this
date its four years of existence: four glorious years of challenges,
controversies, awards, triumphs, and excellence
! A mass and blessing rite for
the CMC Office, CMC Media Laboratory, and CMC Radio and TV Laboratory was the kick-off
ceremonies of the
event. It was followed by the ribbon-cutting and opening of
the PR Exhibit, then the Convocation with the launching of the CMC Beat (the
Official Magazine of the
College
of Mass Communication
).
After the morning events and the 2-hour break, the celebration pursued with the
2nd Search for the Ultimate Communicator, where Team ABS-CBN’s Kim
Resureccion (2
nd yr.), Anthony Reyes (3rd yr.), and JV de
la Cruz (4
th yr.) bested 12 other teams on the competition.

The highlight of the celebration was the Groovy
Night
– a gala night with a twist of fun and time. Being a part of this
celebration was like going back 3 decades ago, where you would see people
wearing hot and striking colored head bands, loose tops, bell-bottom pants, and
retro-ish accessories. The program was completed by 7 block presentations for
the Groovy Night Challenge, where BMC IV-2 emerged amongst its 6 other
contenders; while on the Groovy Fashion Show, Rachelle Coderes and Ryan Singson
(go MIDAS! :P) of BMC III-1 bagged the 1st place for the Retro
category and 1st runner-up for the Neo category, as Paula Montano
and Joseph Molina
of the 2nd years grabbed the 1st place
for the Neo and 1st runner-up for the Retro. Indeed, it was the Grooviest night at the
history of PLM!

March 1 – Supposed Cheer turned Shoot Day!

MIDAS, after the longest, happiest, and most
exhausting celebration yet, was back to normal on this day. We went to Kaunlaran High School to do some
hitting-two-birds-with-one-stone shoot for our upcoming RTV assignment (due on
March 2, Friday)
and VNR for PR (due on March 3, Saturday). We were, of course,
successful with our plan, and we even got chance to mingle with other studes
and have fun while being busy! The usual MIDAS… :P

Then we went home, and I did my deed. Again,
I’m still the one in-charge for the editing; first in line, the RTV assignment.
I started as soon as I got home, and I finished it at around 7:00 AM the
following morning.

My sleep: 3 hours.

March 2 – The Verdict

All the groups, except for one, got the chance
to brag their video outputs on our RTV Writing class. Our group was first, and
the verdict: 2/3! Not bad for first timers! :P

Then after I got home, I started to do the
second in line, the VNR for PR. This 1-minuter video output really struck my
nerves actually – it was damn harder than what I’ve expected! I was finished at
around 4:00 AM, but got to be early so not to be late, I woke up 5 hours later.

My sleep: 5 hours.

March 3 – Hell Day!

Hell day!

I wasn’t late, but our professor’s mad at our
class. Our VNR’s were not shown yet due to lack of equipments, it was scheduled
to be viewed next meeting. On the brighter side, I got a 6.0 for my 2nd
press release output – though I got a 5.5 on the first one last week (my first
5-something grade in PR :-( ).

For a relief, we went to SM Manila. Ate at Yellow
Cab (yum-yum!) and took the advantage of the 3-Day Sale! On my part, I got a new pair of Bench
jeans. :P

And when we were about to go home, the unusual
sight of rain drops appeared in front of the mall. Yes, it was raining on a
March night
. No choice, I went on without any hesitation. I got home, though I
got damped.

March 4 – Squad practice?

I went late to Dapitan Sports Complex for our
Cheerdance practice for I wasn’t feeling well. The practice lasted only for 3
hours. The reason: we were only 9.

March 5 – Sick Monday

Though my body tells me not to, I still went to
school for a very boring class. And the result: I got ill, very ill.

March 6 – Still sick

I can’t take it! I decided not to attend school
because I’m still very ill.

Now…

Wondering why I wasn’t able to post blogs for
the past week? Here’s the reason:

SMART BRO WAS AGAIN MALFUNCTIONING FOR THE NTH
TIME!

Lucky the technicians finally went earlier to
fix things…

Ciao! :P

The OTHER Shoot

These were taken during the shooting day for our VNR and RTV assignment at the Kaunlaran High School...

Of course, we should have our SHOOT of our own! :P

Contagiously Groovy!

The moment I got home, I did not change my clothes just yet...

Instead, I looked for a quite nice area at home, grabbed my camera phone, posed, clicked, and presto!

The Groovy-fever is still in my spirits!

Indulge... :P

After the Groove...

Midas, minus Sky, plus Cookie, Ai, Timmy, Lewie, Jason, headed to Chowking Roxas Boulevard after the Groovy Night to please our aching stomachs.

We ate, laughed, ate, laughed, cam-whored, ate, laughed, cam-whored... and that, and that...

Of course, here's my part... :P

Groovilicious!

Having fun at the CMC Groovy Night!

Ultimate Communicator or Ultimate Cam-whore?

While the 2nd Search For The Ultimate Communicator commences, I myself found not the Ultimate Communicator...

but the Ultimate Cam-whore!

Angal?! :P
