Twilight

Rating:★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy
Contrary to my fondness about magic spells, witches, dark creatures of the night and anything alike – I wasn’t really that glued with this movie. For real.

Yes, I admit it was successful to portray a very commercial appeal and it made the essence of the story cut across; but aside from the bad acting, Hollywood vampire stereotyping, and itsy-bitsy-teeny whining, nothing’s left to praise about this movie. I’m not saying the ticket price would be worthless, but at least save your excitement at home if you haven’t watched it yet because it might spoil your momentum. I’m not quite sure whether the story itself is the reason behind its so-called phenom now or Pattinson’s meek smile; then again, it really did not meet my expectations, period. Though I loved the baseball part so much! It made me miss my high school PE days of softball, only where in I play with real humans.

Come to think of it, I haven’t thought of how my dying moment would be. But of course, I’d prefer being stunned by a Killing Curse rather than being bitten by a vampire with its venom – or should I say, this movie is no Harry Potter.

I wonder why someone could be so narrow minded to compare Harry Potter to something so different. Contrary to what you think a lot of people think that the movie was actually better compared to the book- which seldom happens… and Harry Potter series. Plus it earned far more than that witchcraft series. And for the note even Harry Potter himself thinks that (he said this in an interview when he was asked what does he thinks bout the movie) the story of the movie is actually much better that the last installment of HP.. but well u are a HP fanatic… and I love HPseries as well but then I just cant agree to the “BAD ACTING” of the cast cause they did portray the role very well..

Finally...someone who can see beyond the excitement. I think that there was so much Hollywood stereotyping on vampires...I don't like HP either (at least the movies..but the stories are cool)...as for the acting of the cast...how difficult is it to act like a vampire...so i don't know why someone would praise the acting of the cast...

I'm not narrow-minded, I simply compared the two because they both have qualities that is needed to be pointed out. Besides the fact that they are having their own phenom and large fan-base.

Nevertheless, BE REMINDED that we should NEVER compare books with movies for they are different mediums, different works of art. An author's attack is different from a director's. On this note, I have only seen the director's piece, and this review tells my thoughts of it.

With regards to the story, I still go for Harry Potter. Just think of all the crazy names, places, things, people, creatures, and so on - no doubt Potter's WAY BETTER.

Yes, BAD ACTING. That actually mirrored Hollywood's stereotyping of vampires. My gosh! Do they really have to look like pathetic EMOs just to be vampires? C'mon! There are better ways to portray such roles.

Well thank you. I appreciate that we are on the same plane here. Yes, Hollywood stereotyping of vampires flooded the whole movie like crap. It's like.. crap? LOL!

bad acting, irritating sounds (i dont know if im in narnia or in twilight, that shimmering sound really irritates me), shaking camera, dark shots. can someone tell me what to praise in this movie? :)

oh wow! i totally agree with you varian... =)
i just hate it when people kept on comparing the book with the movie...
what the f*ck! i also read the books and i have my own perception of it.
but i just don't expect it to be exactly the same as the movie...
diba, different naman ang author ng book from that of the script writer or the movie writer per se.... =)
