The Curse
The Curse
Release me from this curse I’m in..
Trying to maintain but I’m strugglin’..

Curse [kurs] – the cause of evil, misfortune, or trouble;
an evil that has been invoked upon one.
As a lot of you may have known or hinted already, I am a believer of magic. It is something that exist, a source of one’s both positive and negative energy – well, that is for me; that’s how I see it. But contrary to what others know, this knack about the unexplained is actually a serious thing for me. Yes, I do take this really seriously. Indeed, I have a very broad imagination – but I have deeper thoughts and sense as well. Call this insanity, I don’t care. It has been years, and still, I am cursed with:
MIW (Men In White)
This applies to all people clad in white, head to foot. I may see them clear, clean, and all that, but they bring me doom when it comes to love. Picture these, my first ex-girlfriend later turned out taking nursing when she entered college; my second was a nursing student; my third (and last) was studying in a marine school, and yes, the uniform was all-white as well. After these three, all the previous flings/hook-ups/flirts/MUs I’ve had with people like them were all unsuccessful. Believe it or not, because of this, I hate wearing white.Brothers’ Grim
This applies to males older than my recent age. I’m an only child, so it would be normal for me to be very friendly and sociable, and oftentimes, I tend to seek an older brother or a younger sister in my circle. Yes, I have been fortunate enough to have little sisters, but the dilemma is with the big bros. If I am not mistaken – which I know I’m not – I’ve had harassment experiences with all of them. I don’t want to elaborate anymore; no pun intended.My Best Friend’s Wrath
This applies to all people – all. Since I don’t have any siblings, my last and greatest resort among my circle of pals is always the best friend. Luckily, I’ve had – unluckily, I’ve had many. All of them are now gone, some are for good and some are just forgotten. I don’t know, whenever there is a huge feud between us, everything breaks. Thanks to the number one reason of all these: jealousy.Now, I have finally revealed my curse to the world. As I embark on a new magical journey after writing this, I am hoping for the better. Though I know this wouldn’t take as fast as a finger snap, the slow process of removal would be really enough for me to take.

------------------------
BALLPEN
Minsan sa isang anatomy department sa isang kilalang unibersidad sa Maynila, may propesor na naiwang nagtatrabaho ng hatinggabi. Kilala ang guro sa pagiging matipuno, ngunit mainitin ang ulo at madaling magalit. Habang subsob sa trabaho, aksidenteng nahulog ang kanyang ballpen malapit sa stretcher kung saan may bangkay na nakahiga.
Pagkasabi ng kataga ay sabay sipa sa stretcher ang ginawa ng guro. Umusad ito palayo, at siya namang dukwang nya para abutin ang nahulog na ballpen. Nang siya'y dumukwang, may nakita syang pares ng naaagnas na binti at paa na nakatayo malapit sa bagay na kanyang kukunin. Sa kanyang ikinagimbal, ang bangkay ay andun na nakatayo sa kanyang harap, ang mga mata nanlilisik ang tingin sa kanya. Nagsisigaw na tumakbo paalis ng anatomy department ang guro.
Makalipas ang ilang sandali, ininspeksyon ng guwardiya ang nasabing lugar. Nagitla ito ng makitang ang desk ng guro ay magulong-magulo, at lahat ng ballpen ay bali sa gitna. Sinilip nya ang stretcher, naroon naman ang bangkay.
Pagkauwi kinabukasan ng guwardiya matapos ang kanyang night shift, sinalubong sya ng kanyang anak sa pintuan.
Sabay angat ng bata ng kanyang kanang kamay, hawak ang isang piraso ng ballpen.
PROF:
Bwisit..

Natigilan lalo ang lalaki, nagpatuloy ng kwento ang guwardiya.

Minsan sa isang kilalang gusali sa lungsod ng Makati, isang bagong employed na lalaki ang inabot ng madaling-araw dahil sa pagta-trabaho. Dakong ika-3 ng umaga ng siya ay matapos at naisipang umuwi na agad. Mula sa kanyang opisina sa 10th floor ng gusali, tinungo nya ang elevator at lumulan dito. Pinindot niya ang button ng down, at agarang sumara ang pinto at umandar ang elevator. Bumaba ng 9th, 8th, at 7th floor - ng biglang tumigil ang elevator. Tumunog ito at sabay na bumukas ang pinto. Walang anu-ano'y may sumilip na mukha ng babae, na ikina-bigla ng lalaki.
BABAE:
Up?
LALAKI:
No, going down.
BABAE:
Thank you!

LALAKI:

BABAE:
Thank you!
Kasabay ng ngiti at pasasalamat ay tumuloy na ang pagbaba ng elevator na lulan ang lalaki. Nasabi na lang nya sa sarili na hindi lang pala siya ang sumobra sa overtime sa panahong iyon.

I was teased!
During your younger years, you were teased as...?
It was just an ordinary day for me today, I did my usual routine: sleep, eat, watch TV - with an exceptional insertion of looking after and selling stuffs from our sari-sari store.
Just this night, as I catered the need of my neighbor customer, she showed me a picture. She said she dug it from their old photo albums earlier, and she was really eager to show it to me. As I held it, I saw 5 children in the portrait wearing little barongs & a mini-dress (1 was a girl). Upon gazing at the kids, I was shocked to see the tallest - I immediately blurted out: "Ako ba ito?", my neighbor laughed and said: "Oo".
It changed my mood - I felt so happy all of a sudden! And as she was about to leave, I asked for the photo again and took a picture of it. My camera phone's really in a bad quality, so I ended up having this:
But it's ok, at least I remember what I used to look before - and you can't laugh at me since you can't see it very clearly! LOL!
By the way, I was teased as a MICROPHONE back then, for I was a bit fat, I had a round-shaped face, and was in semi-kalbo. Picture that out! LOL!

The Love of Siam

Little by little, the story projects deep lessons through the film’s simplicity. Though there were some draggy and extraneously comical scenes, the effort to portray the most meaningful and touching narratives were exceptional. Characters gave justice to their roles, intertwining the harmonious balance of well polished acting and constructive direction.
Societal issues tackled in the film generated interesting ideas and helped in the story’s build-up. This flick is really for everyone – for everyone who wants to believe in the hope of finding that one, true unending love and inner peace.
If I said that I watched it without crying, would you believe me?

Girl, nagamit mo na ba yung CR sa baba? Naku wag ka dun ah, dun ka na lang sa CR natin sa palapag na ito, alam mo na ba kung saan?
GIRL:
Ah, hindi eh. Oo, nagamit ko na yung sa baba kanina. Ok naman sa baba, malinis..
BOARDER 2:
Sigurado ka?
BOARDER 3:
Baka nilinis ni manang..
GIRL:
Ewan ko, pero malinis naman. Doon kasi ako sa cubicle na ikalawa mula sa dulo. Yun ang ginamit ko.
BOARDER 3:
Bakit dun ka pa?
BOARDER 1:

Yun kasi tinuro ni manang, bakit anu ba meron dun?

May nagpakamatay kasi sa dormitoryong ito, nagbigti - doon mismo sa cubicle na ginamit mo. Sabi ni manang, pag naka-upo ka sa toilet bowl nun, sakto sa mukha mo ang paa ng babaeng nagbigti doon.

Isang normal na araw sa isang dormitoryong pambabae sa isang sikat na unibersidad sa kamaynilaan, isang bagong saltang estudyante ang tahimik na nagliligpit ng kanyang mga gamit sa inupahang silid. Dahil sa bagong salta, wala pa syang mga kaibigan sa dormitoryo. Makalipas ang ilang oras na pagsasalansan ng mga gamit, nakaramdam ang estudyante ng tawag ng kalikasan. Dali-dali nyang tinanong ang landlady kung saan ang banyo.
GIRL:

Nagmadali ang estudyante sa pagpunta sa banyo. Pagbukas ng pinto..

Napansin ng dalaga ang ikalawa mula sa dulong cubicle, na animo'y walang gumagamit dahil sa maayos ang pinto nito. Nang kanyang buksan ay malinis naman sa loob nito, di hamak na mas malinis kesa sa naunang dalawang cubicle na nadaanan niya. Walang anu-ano'y ito na ang kanyang ginamit. Habang umiihi, nakaramdam ng kakaibang lamig ang estudyante sa kanyang noo at mukha. Nagtataka man, hinayaan nya na lng ito. Matapos gumamit ng banyo ay malinis nya itong nilisan.

Kinagabihan, nakisalamuha sya sa iba pang babaeng boarders. Masaya silang nagkwe-kwentuhan ng kung anu-ano ng may magtanong na isa sa kanya.
BOARDER 1:

Isang gabi sa isang kilalang campus sa kamaynilaan, isang baguhang propesor ang sinubok ang kadiliman ng campus sa gabi. Inabutan sya ng isang napakalakas na ulan. Dahil sa walang dalang panangga kahit payong, napilitan syang tumakbo sa pinaka-malapit na building upang sumilong.
Sinamahan ng guwardiya ang guro sa ika-tatlong palapag, at pumasok sila sa unang kwarto sa kanan. Madilim, walang ilaw, wala ni kahit aninag ng buwan. Iniwan ng guwardiya ang guro at nagbilin na kung may kailangan o problema ay sumigaw lamang siya.
Makalipas ang ilan pang oras, sa patuloy na pagbuhos ng malakas ng ulan, nainip ang guro. Nagmasid sya sa madilim na silid, naglakad-lakad. Naisipan niyang lumapit sa pinto. Britney Spears makes a 96-1 jump with "Womanizer," returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single ". . . Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999 . . .
This is the third time in the past two months that the record for the biggest jump to No. 1 has been shattered.
On the Hot 100 dated Sept. 6, T.I. soared 71-1 with "Whatever You Like" and last week he broke his own record when he sprinted 80-1 with "Live Your Life."
Spears' massive leap to No. 1 is spurred by first-week digital download sales of solid 285,544 copies, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey's take for "Touch My Body" by just over 200 units.

Possibly more than anyone on Earth, Britney Spears' life is constantly documented by the media, which voraciously reports on the singer's every step and misstep. But what's it like to be in her shoes?
With her new album, Circus, set for release in just a few weeks, the singer is ready to show the world her side of the story.
Britney has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the pop-music spotlight. Tentatively titled "For the Record," the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before Circus is released on December 2 (the singer's 27th birthday).
"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, "Womanizer," and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her recent triumphant appearance at the Video Music Awards is also featured.
Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says in the film. "Sometimes it can get lonely 'cause you don't open the gate. I'm stuck in this place, and I just cope every day."
Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"
"For the Record" airs Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

I just wrote to simply extend my deepest and sincerest congratulations for making it in the top 4 of Project Runway Philippines.
Since day one, I have been a big fan of yours - from that pink geometric-inspired poncho up to the punk terno - seeing your work has always been a breath of fresh air. You have interesting vision and your eye for creativity always spell genuineness. Indeed, I am inspired by you.
Though you have not-so-good technical skills as what the judges and other contestants pointed out, I still agree with Lord Maturan (and I would love to borrow his words again here); Project Runway Philippines is for the next big Filipino fashion designer, not sewer. With this regard, I bravely say that I liked your punk terno rather than Aries' same-old-silhouette-and-seamless terno - what more if you actually finished it, di ba? But that's it, that's the game. Nothing changes, I'm still a proud fan.
Project Runway Philippines wouldn't be complete without your touch - you kicked ass! And as what you've said on your last interview during the last challenge's episode: Party, party, party!

2:17PM - Enjoy your graduation! Am so proud and happy for you! - Me
Early this afternoon as I was flaunting on the streets of Makati, I can't help but smile. Literally, I was beaming an ala-toothpaste commercial grin, everyone I passed by actually can't help but notice it and smile at me too. The happiest feeling was I know that my mouth is not the only body part who's smiling, also my heart. If it's really appropriate to say, then my heart was also teary-eyed.
October 6 marks the graduation of my bestfriend. Why October 6? He's an irregular nursing student at Fatima University - Fairview. After years of book-eating and notebook-munching, finally, he has reached his finish line as well.
I'm sad because we rarely see each other - and thanks to Sun, we also rarely talk to each other. But what saddened me most was the fact that I couldn't be there to witness his triumph. The ceremony was held at PICC, two tickets per student. That's why today, as I dressed up to find work, I decided to wear my graduation outfit last March - for at least by wearing them, I could somehow feel that I am where he was earlier, watching him smile, laughing with him. Yes, that's the least I could do.
So what's the sense of this now? Well, I'm just glad to say that I am very thankful that my bestfriend has now graduated. I won't tell here his hardships for that is our precious secret, but I will tell this here: I'm so proud of you! You deserve nothing but the best! I love you bestfriend! Enjoy your very own finish line!

While in Glorietta, I passed by the 2nd floor Cinderella and saw the winning garments of Aries Lagat, Veejay Floresca and Jaz Cerezo of Project Runway Philippines. Then at Folded n' Hung, I bumped into John of Jarakay Tribe from Survivor Philippines. Cool.
