IMPERFECT: My 1st Job Interview

I applied for a job on The Picture Company last thursday. Their website says they are looking for creative people to be part of their growing team. Upon reading that, I was convinced that I am creative enough to be with them, and so, I e-mailed immediately my resume for application.

Last saturday, a call woke me up - it was from The Picture Company. I forgot to ask the name of the girl who called for I was a bit dumbstruck. All she said was I was expected on monday (kanina) for an interview at their Rockwell branch, 1:00 PM, and I should do a creative letter that best describes why I love editing and why I would want to work with them - with a note that I should think out of the box when doing it. [..err, I remember shouting "Oh my God!" after the conversation. LOL]

And so, I did a creative essay - which I loved doing since in high school - telling exactly what they wanted me to say. Then I went for the interview earlier..

CRAP!

I was shocked to see the outputs carried by the other applicants! We were 4 there, 1 was holding a collage of pictures, 1 was with her painting, 1 was holding her portfolio, and there I am - with my essay.

Then I was interviewed.
BOOM.
The interviewer told me that I was wrong for putting together an essay.
What they meant, she said, that I should present something out of the ordinary to impress them.
What the heck!

Gladly though, the interviewer told me that whenever I will be called for a second interview (Oh I just really hope they would! LOL! Kabado ako!), I should present another creative-con-out-of-the-box letter. And they will be checking this site to see my creations - eh kaso wala nga halos naka-post ditong creations ko! Puro mukha ko! LOL! Kaya expect that I will be posting a lot this week!

And yeah, this blog is only viewable by my contacts only. Mahirap ng mabasa nila. Haha!
