Tragic Loss

Tragic loss – I’m serious.

A few hours ago, I did the three, stupidest
things I could ever do at this point in my life:

-
copied
and pasted old – should I say, treasured – files from my back-up drive to my
hard drive…

-
waited
for 30 minutes or so for that process…

-
deleted
the copied files from my back-up drive…

Never thinking, and never realizing, that what
I did was just a sort of link or shortcut to the raw ones, I hit the delete
button with utmost conviction. Yes, I was doing that consciously. Now here I
am… the stupid me.

Gusto kong magtago sa damit na suot ko! Yung
tipong walang makakakita sa’kin!

Gusto kong sumigaw! Yung tipong mapapatid litid
ko at maririnig sa buong Luzon!

Gusto kong lumubog sa kina-uupuan ko! Yung
tipong mababaon ako sa lupa!

Gusto kong i-untog ang ulo ko! Yung tipong may
maaalog para matauhan ako!

Gusto kong sapakin yung CPU! Pero hindi pwede…
mahal ko ‘to.

Everything that I have persevered, may it be
products of group works or individual outputs, it was all gone – GONE! From my
treasured pictures, to ego-boosting written outputs, to music files, to secret
files, up to the first and latest AVP – everything has vanished because of my
stupid brain and fingers!

On the not-so-brighter side, I DON’T THROW
CD’S.

Before I did this blog, I scavenged for
important files on the pile of CDs at my computer table, and also from my
multiply site and e-mail account (on the Sent folder…) which came a bit handy
for a meantime.

From the 100% important files that I have
erased because of stupidity, I managed to retrieve about 45% of it. But I won’t
stop, I’ll hunt my professors and beg them to let me re-copy my/our outputs.

Damn!

For a change… bad night.
